A ten-month-old baby boy named Waylon was seriously injured after he was attacked by his mother’s boyfriend. He was left with severe head injuries and suffered brain bleeding.
He was able to go home after a few days, but he still has a long road ahead of him.
Although he was able to leave the hospital, the child has suffered from long-term injuries.
The incident reportedly happened when Jordan Boggess, the boyfriend of the baby’s mother, dropped him on the floor and gave him a bear hug. According to Tyler, the child had been “reset” to a newborn.
Waylon is currently unable to see and cannot even lift his head up. Due to his injuries, he will require extensive physical therapy.
Even though he’s home, he still has a long way to go before he can fully recover. His condition has caused him to have seizures and limited vision.
About six weeks after the incident, Waylon was released from the hospital on October 24. He had been in critical condition for over a month. According to hospital staff, the child suffered from a variety of injuries, including a brain bleed.
Waylon was immediately placed on a ventilator and later suffered from seizures and brain swelling. The day of the incident, the infant was placed in a baby-like garment while his mother went to the bathroom.
As the child started to cry, Boggess picked him up and threw him into the air. He missed the child on the second toss, which he described as “sweaty hands.”
The child fell to the floor. During the investigation, Boggess reportedly admitted that he bearhugged the child until he stopped crying.
The child’s father, Mr. Burbridge, stated that his family and the other individuals fighting for the child are his voice.
Waylon’s mother, Mr. Burbridge, released a statement after the child was released from the hospital. He stated that the family’s main focus was on the child’s recovery and that he was doing well.
The child’s mother also noted that he was able to regain his mobility.
