If you’re a fan of Adelaide’s Mix 102.3 breakfast show, you’re going to miss Ali Clarke’s warm and witty presence on your daily commute.
This morning, Clarke announced her departure from the popular show, Max & Ali In The Morning, after three incredible years.
Why Did Ali Clarke Decide to Leave?
In an emotional on-air farewell, Clarke shared that she’s following her heart and embarking on new adventures. “It’s really hard to say now, probably even harder to accept as well,” she confessed.
Clarke revealed that she was offered the opportunity to continue on the show, but her heart wasn’t fully in it. She wants to stay true to her values and act with integrity.
What Does This Mean for Max & Ali In The Morning?
Clarke’s co-host Max Burford will continue to host the show, and the good news is that local radio is here to stay.
There were rumors that the KIIS juggernaut The Kyle & Jackie O Show might take over the timeslot, but Clarke assured listeners that Max and the team will continue to bring laughter and entertainment to Adelaide.
Rumors and New Beginnings
There’s speculation that The Kyle & Jackie O Show is eyeing an expansion in Adelaide, which could have spelled the end for Max & Ali.
However, Clarke’s departure seems to have put those rumors to rest. In a separate press release, Clarke expressed her gratitude to her colleagues and listeners, saying, “I’ll miss our listeners terribly and can’t thank them enough for their support… I know they’ll keep bringing the laughs and will go from strength to strength.”
What’s Next for Mix 102.3 and KIIS?
While Clarke’s leaving Mix 102.3, there’s more news from KIIS HQ. NRL star Corey Oates is joining the 97.3 FM breakfast show, now called Robin & Kip now with Corey Oates in the morning. Oates, a sports fan favorite, played 12 seasons for the Brisbane Broncos and featured in nine State of Origin games before announcing his retirement in October.
We’ll miss Ali Clarke on the airwaves, but we can’t wait to see what she does next. Stay tuned for more updates from the world of radio and entertainment!
