Getaway presenter Catriona Rowntree has proved once again that age is just a number, rocking a stunning swimsuit on camera despite battling anxiety at an all-time high.
Facing Fears in Sri Lanka
Currently filming in Sri Lanka for the long-running travel show, Catriona was tasked with taking a surf lesson on camera – a daunting task that would push anyone out of their comfort zone. But the 53-year-old Aussie TV host was determined to rise to the challenge, even if it meant facing her fears head-on.
The Anxiety Was Real
In a candid Instagram post, Catriona confessed that the thought of being filmed in her bright blue swimwear was terrifying. “Nothing puts the fear of God into a woman, well me, more than the term ‘surf lesson’, (aka swimsuit on camera to millions of judging people) even at 23 this would up my anxiety, so now at 53 it’s next level,” she wrote.
Overcoming Anxiety and Rocking the Surfboard
Despite her initial reservations, Catriona looked absolutely stunning as she posed on top of a surfboard, giving the thumbs up to her fans. And the best part? She managed to stand up on the board for a whole 6 seconds, earning a nod of approval from the cameraman!
Fitness Secrets of a Busy Mum
So, how does Catriona manage to stay fit and healthy, especially when she’s not a fan of exercise? In a previous interview with Body+Soul, she revealed that she prefers to incorporate incidental activity into her daily routine. “It’s really a decision to be active every day, this is coming from someone who is allergic to exercise,” she joked.
Staying Active, Not Obsessive
Instead of sticking to a grueling fitness regime, Catriona tries to make physical activity a fun and enjoyable experience. From taking a beginner’s cha-cha class on a cruise to walking around the deck or riding her old bike around the farm, she believes in making conscious choices to stay active every day.
Balance is Key
As a busy working mum, Catriona knows that balance is key. She’s not about to sacrifice her daily routine for hours of exercise or yoga classes. Instead, she focuses on making realistic choices that work for her lifestyle. “Here’s the thing – I live on a farm, I’m a working mum, I don’t live in some fantasy world of Yoga class three times a week. I just do what I can, when I can,” she said.
Inspiring Fans with Her Authenticity
Catriona’s relatable approach to fitness and her willingness to confront her fears on camera have inspired fans everywhere. She’s proof that you don’t have to be a fitness enthusiast or a size 0 to look and feel great in your 50s. And with her down-to-earth attitude and infectious personality, we can’t wait to see what she gets up to next!
