A bizarre incident unfolded in Canberra on Monday morning when a woman was struck by her own car after a collision with a taxi.
The accident occurred just before 10:20 am at the Kambah Village Shops carpark in Tuggeranong, an ACT district.
The Collision and the Chaos That Followed
The woman’s car collided with the taxi, and in a heroic attempt, she got out of her vehicle to help a person with a stroller who was trying to exit the taxi. However, in a freak twist, her own car, which had not been properly braked, rolled forward and hit her.

The scene was chaotic, with up to 20 bystanders rushing to the woman’s aid to perform emergency treatment. Police, emergency services, and paramedics were quickly called to the scene. One person was taken to the hospital in a critical condition, according to the Emergency Services Agency.
