Bill Clinton, the 42nd President of the United States, was rushed to the hospital on Monday after developing a fever.
The 78-year-old underwent medical tests at Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington DC, according to his deputy chief of staff.
A Sudden Health Scare
Clinton’s sudden hospitalization has raised concerns among his supporters and the general public. However, his team has reassured everyone that the situation is “not an emergency.” In a statement, Angel Ureña said, “President Clinton was admitted to Georgetown University Medical Center this afternoon for testing and observation. He remains in good spirits and deeply appreciates the excellent care he is receiving.”
Update: Clinton Discharged from Hospital
In a quick update, Clinton was discharged from the hospital on Tuesday after being treated for the flu. His team expressed gratitude for the exceptional care provided by the medical staff and appreciated the kind messages and well wishes received.
“He and his family are deeply grateful for the exceptional care provided by the team at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital and are touched by the kind messages and well wishes he received,” Ureña wrote. “He sends his warmest wishes for a happy and healthy holiday season to all.”
Clinton’s Recent Health Issues
This is not the first time Clinton has faced health issues. In recent years, he has undergone several medical procedures, including quadruple bypass surgery in 2004 and surgery for a partially collapsed lung in 2005. In 2010, he had a pair of stents implanted in a coronary artery. However, Clinton has taken steps to improve his health, including embracing a largely vegan diet, which has resulted in significant weight loss and improved overall health.
Clinton’s Recent Public Appearance
Clinton recently addressed the Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Chicago, where he campaigned for Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris’ unsuccessful White House bid. During his speech, many noticed his older appearance and hoarse voice, sparking concerns about his health.
Some viewers wondered if Clinton had Covid-19, given his hoarse and scratchy voice. However, it’s clear that Clinton’s health issues are unrelated to the pandemic. Despite his health concerns, Clinton remains committed to his political duties and continues to inspire his supporters.
