The Perfect Facade
Meet Zachary and William Zulock, a wealthy gay couple who seemed to have it all. They had a picture-perfect family, complete with matching rainbow T-shirts and a strong social media presence.
But behind closed doors, they were hiding a dark and sinister secret.
A Lifetime of Abuse
The Zulocks adopted their two sons, now 10 and 12, from a Christian special-needs agency that has since gone out of business. But instead of providing a loving and nurturing environment, they subjected their children to years of physical and sexual abuse. The abuse started when the boys were just three and five years old, and continued for years, with the couple even sharing images and videos of the abuse with other pedophiles.
Surveillance Footage Reveals the Truth
Police recovered surveillance footage from the family home in an affluent suburb of Atlanta, Georgia, which showed the couple engaging in sexual acts with their sons. The footage revealed the extent of the abuse, and led to the couple’s eventual arrest and sentencing.
A “House of Horrors”
Randy McGinley, the local district attorney, described the Zulock’s home as a “house of horrors” where they “put their extremely dark desires above everything and everyone else.” The couple’s actions were so depraved that they even offered their sons to other pedophiles on multiple occasions.
A History of Abuse
This wasn’t the first time Zachary had been accused of abuse. In 2011, he was reported to police for allegedly raping another boy, although charges were never brought. But this time, the evidence was too overwhelming to ignore.
Justice Served
In August 2024, William pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including aggravated sodomy, child molestation, incest, and sexual exploitation of children. Zachary followed suit in October, pleading guilty to similar charges. Both men were sentenced to 100 years in prison without the possibility of parole.
A Message of Hope
While the Zulock’s crimes are heinous and inexcusable, the story also highlights the bravery and resilience of their victims. “The resolve I have seen from these two young victims over the last two years is truly inspiring,” said Mr. McGinley. Their story serves as a reminder that justice can be served, and that perpetrators of abuse will be held accountable.
