Bar Brawl Turns Deadly
A shocking tragedy unfolded in western Montenegro when a gunman opened fire, killing 10 people, including two children, after a bar brawl.
According to police and government sources, the suspect is on the run and a manhunt is underway.
Gunman Identified
Authorities have named 45-year-old Aco Martinovic as the suspect. Special troops are actively searching for him following the incident, which took place about 18 miles from Montenegro’s capital, Podgorica. Interior Minister Danilo Saranovic confirmed the chilling details that Martinovic not only targeted the bar owner and his family but also his own relatives.
Government Response
The interior minister emphasized that capturing Martinovic is their top priority right now. Meanwhile, President Jakov Milatovic shared his heartfelt reaction on social media, expressing shock and grief over the loss of innocent lives during what should have been a joyous time of year.
Prime Minister Visits the Wounded
Prime Minister Milojko Spajic personally visited those injured in the hospital and announced a national period of mourning for three days. “This is a terrible tragedy that has affected us all,” he declared, rallying police efforts to ensure justice is served.
Suspect’s Troubled Past
According to a report by state broadcaster RTCG, Martinovic was known for his erratic behavior and had a history of illegal weapon possession. Witnesses suggest that after a brawl, he retrieved his gun from home before unleashing the attack at the bar, then proceeded to another location to continue his rampage.
