On social media, many people have voiced their disapproval of a man’s remarks over a “obscene” sign that was posted at the development site of a Woolworths supermarket.
The man claimed that he and his wife were walking through the construction site in Mosman, a ritzy district in Sydney, when they became insulted by a banner advertising the excavation company Dick’s Diggers as they passed by.
The sign features the company’s name and emblem in addition to the company’s tagline, which reads, “Our mission is your hole.”
The man stated in his Facebook post: “My wife and I walked past the Woolworths construction site today, and we were appalled by the language so blatantly exhibited.”
“The distance to the nearest school is not even a furlong.
I’m at a loss for words.
“How many thousands upon thousands of children are being put in such filthy conditions?
Our little town has has to be better than this, doesn’t it?
Following its dissemination across the internet, numerous social media platforms have responded to the man’s complaint.
One commentator predicted that “almost every child who passes past the sign will be laughing loudly.”
The following was also added: “Some adults, as well…”
Others have come up to defend Dick’s Diggers, stating that they do not think the signs to be insulting in any way.
“Oh my gosh, I had no idea there were so many genuine ‘Karens’ in this world!”
remarked one of their fellow Facebook users.
Another user commented on Reddit, saying, “That is a fantastic slogan.
Non Karen approved.”
A third participant chimed in, “I’m going to require some company gear.”
