A devastating car accident has left a community in shock after a 16-year-old boy lost his life and two other teenagers were injured in a single-vehicle crash in Sydney’s southwest.
The incident occurred on Hoxton Park Road, Hoxton Park, around 8:30 pm on Thursday when a black Subaru sedan veered off the road and crashed into a tree.
What Happened?
Emergency services rushed to the scene, where they found the driver, a 19-year-old man, who was treated and taken to the hospital.
Unfortunately, the front passenger, a 16-year-old boy, died at the scene. His identity has not been formally released yet.
Another 16-year-old passenger suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Investigation Underway
The police have established a crime scene and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
“We urge anyone with information, CCTV footage, or dashcam footage to come forward and contact Crime Stoppers,” said a NSW Police spokesperson.
The community is in shock, and authorities are working to determine the cause of the accident.
Road Closure and Diversions
Hoxton Park Road was closed in both directions, and diversions were put in place while emergency services worked at the scene.
