A dramatic accident on the Cunningham Highway in Queensland’s Scenic Rim has left a police officer with life-threatening injuries.
The incident, which involved a police vehicle and a truck, occurred just before 1 pm on Friday and has resulted in a major emergency response.
What Happened?
According to reports from The Courier Mail, the police officer was attempting to pull over a car when the police vehicle was involved in a head-on collision with a truck.
The impact was severe enough to trap the officer inside the vehicle, but thankfully, they have since been freed.

Emergency services, including a rescue helicopter, rushed to the scene to provide assistance.
The officer, who suffered serious head, chest, abdominal, leg, and arm injuries, was airlifted to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
Paramount paramedics also treated another individual, believed to be the truck driver, who was then transported to Ipswich Hospital for further care.
