Cancelled for 2025
If you were looking forward to dancing the day away at Groovin the Moo this year, we’ve got some disappointing news for you.
The popular Australian music festival has been cancelled for 2025.
But don’t worry, the organisers are promising it will be back – just not this year.
A Beloved Festival on Hiatus
Groovin the Moo has been a staple of the Australian music scene since 2005, bringing big-name acts to regional areas across the country.
However, the festival has been facing some challenges in recent years.
The 2024 festival was cancelled due to low ticket sales, and it seems like the organisers are taking some time to regroup and come up with a more sustainable model.
A Message from the Organisers
In a post on social media, the Groovin the Moo team said: “Groovin the Moo won’t be happening in 2025, while we work on finding the most sustainable model for Australia’s most loved regional touring festival…
We will really miss seeing the smiling faces of all our beloved Moo Crew – and that means YOU!” It’s clear that the team is passionate about bringing the festival back, but they need some time to figure things out.
Not the Only Festival to Fall Victim
Groovin the Moo isn’t the only music festival to be cancelled in recent months. Splendour in the Grass, another giant of the Australian music festival scene, announced its cancellation just days ago.
The organisers said they needed some time to “recharge” and come back bigger and better.
Other festivals like You & Me, Spilt Milk, The Birdsville Big Red Bash, and Harvest Rock have also been cancelled, leaving music lovers wondering what’s going on.
It’s not all bad news, though. The fact that these festivals are taking the time to regroup and come back stronger is a good sign.
And who knows, maybe 2026 will be the year that Groovin the Moo returns, bigger and better than ever. Fingers crossed!
