A devastating accident has occurred on a rural property in western NSW, resulting in the death of a 9-year-old boy.
The incident happened on Friday evening, around 7pm, on Glendara Road, White Cliffs, approximately 1,000km northwest of Sydney.
What Happened
Emergency services rushed to the scene after receiving reports of a crash on the property. Upon arrival, they found that a utility vehicle (ute) had overturned.
The driver, a 16-year-old boy, and his passenger, the 9-year-old boy, were both taken to White Cliffs Hospital.
Unfortunately, the younger boy was pronounced dead on arrival.
Investigation Underway
The 16-year-old driver was treated for his injuries and will undergo mandatory testing.
Police have set up a crime scene on the property and have begun investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner to determine the cause of the tragedy.
