A devastating incident has occurred in Sydney’s west, leaving a community in shock.
A 9-year-old girl has tragically lost her life after being pulled unconscious from a backyard pool in Edensor Park.
The incident happened on Sunday afternoon, and despite the best efforts of emergency services, the young girl sadly passed away.
What Happened?
At around 4:30 pm, emergency services rushed to a home on Rosaki Close in response to a distressing discovery.
The primary school-aged girl was found unresponsive in the pool and was quickly rushed to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead by paramedics.
Unfortunately, she was in a critical condition and died a short time later.
Emergency Response
A massive emergency response was deployed to the scene, with five ambulance crews, including a specialist intensive care unit, working to resuscitate the child.
The scene was also attended by multiple police officers, who remained on site throughout Sunday night.
Investigation Underway
An investigation into the incident is currently ongoing, and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
