A devastating crash between a truck and a car in Perth’s east has resulted in the loss of a life.
The accident occurred on Monday at around 1:45 pm on Roe Hwy, near Maida Vale Rd in High Wycombe, and has left the community in shock.
What Happened
The collision involved a Holden Commodore and a white Volvo prime mover.
A 77-year-old woman, who was a passenger in the Commodore, suffered critical injuries and was rushed to the hospital by ambulance.
Unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries and passed away.
The driver of the Commodore, an 82-year-old man, escaped with minor injuries, while the 54-year-old truck driver walked away unharmed.
Traffic Chaos and Investigation
The crash led to the closure of southbound lanes for several hours, causing significant traffic disruptions.
The Major Crash unit is now investigating the incident, and police are urging anyone who witnessed the crash or has dash-cam footage to come forward.
