A devastating crash in the state’s west has claimed the life of a 20-year-old rider.
The incident occurred on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at around 5:50 pm, at the intersection of Hickey and Limerick Street in Coonamble.
What Happened?
Emergency services rushed to the scene after receiving reports of a collision between a trail bike and a Toyota SUV.
When police arrived, they found the rider had suffered serious head and arm injuries.

Despite the best efforts of NSW Ambulance paramedics, the young man was taken to Coonamble Hospital in a serious condition, where he unfortunately passed away.
Investigation Underway
The driver of the SUV, a 25-year-old woman, was uninjured but was taken to the hospital for routine testing.
Police have seized both vehicles for further examination and have set up a crime scene to gather more information.
As they continue to investigate, they’re urging anyone with dashcam footage or information about the incident to come forward.
