A devastating car accident on the Bruce Highway in Mackay, Queensland, has left a community in mourning.
A woman lost her life, and two children were rushed to hospital with injuries after their vehicle careened off the road and crashed onto nearby railway tracks.
What Happened?
The incident occurred on Tuesday morning, around 6:50 am, when a black Toyota Kluger was traveling on the Bruce Highway near Donohues Road in Farleigh.
For unknown reasons, the car lost control and came to a stop on the railway tracks.
Emergency services were quickly called to the scene, and a 73-year-old woman was rushed to Mackay Base Hospital in critical condition.
Unfortunately, she later succumbed to her injuries.
