Imagine being on a dream family vacation in Bali, only to have it turn into a nightmare in an instant.
That’s what happened to little Marigold Jessie, a brave 4-year-old girl from Adelaide, who’s now fighting for her life after a horrific accident.
The Accident That Changed Everything
Marigold was playing in a treehouse at her family’s villa in Bali when she fell, fracturing her skull and causing bleeding on the brain.
The poor kid was rushed to the hospital, where she underwent emergency surgery to relieve the pressure on her brain.
She was then flown back to Adelaide, where she’s currently in intensive care at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital.
A Long and Difficult Road to Recovery
Marigold’s aunt, Sophie McInnerney, says her niece is no stranger to hospitals. In fact, she spent the first 100 days of her life in the hospital after being born at just 25 weeks.
“Goldie has an incredible fighting spirit and is the bravest little soul we know,” Sophie says. “But she has a long and tough road ahead of her to recovery.”
Luckily, Marigold’s parents, Nick and Carly, are by her side every step of the way, providing the love and support she needs.
The Outpouring of Love and Support
To help Marigold’s family during this difficult time, Sophie set up a GoFundMe page, which has already raised over $59,000 in just two days.
“They’re going to need a lot of love and support to get through this,” Sophie says.
It’s amazing to see how the community is rallying around Marigold and her family, showing that even in the darkest times, there’s always hope and kindness.
