Tragic Accident Claims Life on Newell Highway
A devastating car crash in northwest New South Wales has left one man dead and another woman fighting for her life.
The accident, which involved a truck and a car towing a caravan, occurred on the Newell Highway in Boggabilla around 4 pm on Tuesday, June 24, 2025.
What Happened
Emergency services rushed to the scene after receiving reports of the collision. Unfortunately, the 79-year-old driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene.
His passenger, a 75-year-old woman, suffered serious injuries and was treated by paramedics before being taken to Moree Hospital for further care.
The Investigation Begins
The 41-year-old truck driver escaped the crash without injuries but was taken to Goondiwindi Hospital for routine testing.
Police have set up a crime scene and launched an investigation into the incident.
The Crash Investigation Unit is working to determine the cause of the accident, and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
