Prince William has been thinking about his future plans for the monarchy, but there’s one main player who’s not part of the equation – his estranged brother Prince Harry.
According to sources close to William, he’s been assessing what’s important to him and making plans for the future.
But unfortunately, Harry won’t be playing a significant role in those plans, unlike what was initially expected.
A Sad Situation for William
Jennie Bond, a former BBC royal correspondent, told the Mirror that Harry’s exclusion from William’s plans is a “very sad situation.”
Harry was once considered William’s wingman and would have had an extremely senior role, being the sibling, friend, supporter, and sounding board for his brother when he takes on the responsibility of being King.
Now, however, it seems that William has accepted Harry’s absence from his plans. This is a great loss for William, as Harry would have been an essential part of his support system.
Zara Tindall Tipped for a Huge Role
One cousin who might benefit from Harry’s absence is Zara Tindall. According to Jennie Bond, Zara could take on all royal horse racing matters, which would be a brilliant idea.
Zara lives and breathes horses, is extremely glamorous, and well-liked, making her a perfect fit for the role.
This move would also work out well for William and Catherine, as they’re not particularly interested in the racing world. They’d still attend Ascot from time to time, but Zara and Mike would ensure they have fun and a giggle.
William’s Plans for the Future
William has been thinking long and hard about his future role as King. He wants to make a difference in the world and use his platform to make the country a better place to live.
He’s not just interested in being a figurehead or patron but wants to grapple with the nuts and bolts of social issues that need fixing.
William is taking on bigger social issues like homelessness, mental health, and the environment. He’s not just talking about them; he’s taking action and is full of optimism and positivity.
He strives to make an impact, get things rolling, and move in the right direction, even if a complete solution may not yet be possible.
Striking a Balance
William needs to strike a balance between moving forward into the modern era while retaining tradition.
He’s not comfortable with all the pomp and pageantry, but he will retain the grandeur of great military occasions like Trooping the Colour.
His coronation won’t be as grand as his father’s or grandmother’s, but he’ll find a way to make it relatable and dignified. He wants to use his platform to make a difference, and that’s what matters most to him.
