A terrifying multi-vehicle crash has closed all southbound lanes near Mooney Mooney, leaving five people injured.
What Happened?
It all went down around 4am this morning, about 2km north of the Berowra turnoff. A crash involving three cars sparked a chain reaction of events that ended with a prime mover striking several people.
One of the drivers involved in the initial crash got into a fourth vehicle to escape the chaos, while two other drivers were standing on the roadside, trying to make sense of the situation.

The Aftermath
In a shocking turn of events, the two drivers on the roadside were struck by the prime mover, leaving them injured.
One of the men was knocked to the ground, while another was pinned against a rock wall by his legs. The driver of the truck was also injured, suffering a hand injury.
Emergency Response
The authorities sprang into action, with officers from Kuring-Gai Police Area Command and Brisbane Water Police District, NSW Ambulance paramedics, Fire and Rescue NSW, and a rescue helicopter all rushing to the scene.
Two men have been taken to hospital, one with serious leg injuries, while the other two drivers are being assessed on-site.
Traffic Chaos
If you’re planning on traveling southbound on the M1, you’ll need to take a detour. All lanes are closed, and traffic is being diverted via the Old Pacific Highway.
