A devastating accident has occurred in Western Australia’s Great Southern region, resulting in the death of a woman.
Family of Five Involved in Car-Train Collision
Emergency services were called to a crossing at Redmond-Hay River Rd, near the intersection of Siding Rd, in the Albany area of Redmond just before 2 pm on Wednesday.
A car carrying five people, including a woman and man in their 30s and three children under 10, collided with a freight train.
Tragic Consequences
Despite efforts to save her, the woman tragically lost her life.
The man and three children were taken to hospital, but their injuries are not life-threatening.
Two men on the train were treated for shock.
Investigation Underway
Great Southern Police Acting Superintendent Rhonda Alexander said police are investigating and anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers.
