Two teenage boys, aged 15 and 17, are set to face court on Thursday over the alleged murder of Zdravko Bilic, a 57-year-old business mogul found stabbed to death in his Warana home on the Sunshine Coast.
The victim was discovered by a neighbor just after 7:30 pm on Monday with two stab wounds to his abdomen.
Police investigations suggest the fatal stabbing may have occurred as early as 11 pm on Sunday.
Disturbance at the Address
A disturbance is believed to have occurred at Bilic’s Napalle St home, resulting in the 57-year-old man sustaining fatal stab wounds.
Bilic was home alone at the time of the alleged attack, and his wife, Gry Tomte, who runs a popular skincare clinic in Melbourne’s St Kilda, was interstate.
A concerned neighbor found Bilic’s body after his wife asked him to check on her husband when she hadn’t heard from him.
Community Rocked by “Sickening” Alleged Crime
Deputy Queensland Premier and local MP Jarrod Bleijie described the alleged crime as “sickening” and said the community had been shaken by the incident.
Bleijie praised the police for their efforts in apprehending the alleged offenders, who are now facing murder charges.
Under the Crisafulli government’s tough adult crime adult time laws, any juvenile convicted of murder in Queensland will serve mandatory life imprisonment.
Investigation Ongoing
The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information or security vision from the area between 11 pm on July 13 and 7:35 pm on July 14 is urged to contact police.
