Rosie Roche, the 20-year-old cousin of Princes William and Harry, has been found dead at her family home in the small English village of Norton.
Rosie’s body was discovered by her mother and sister on July 14, and an inquest heard that she had been packing for a trip away with friends.
Police have deemed the death as non-suspicious and there was no third-party involvement, according to Area Coroner Grant Davies.
A University Student with a Bright Future Ahead
Rosie was a university student studying English Literature at Durham University at the time of her death.
Born as the granddaughter of Princess Diana’s uncle, Rosie was a cousin to the royal brothers, Princes William and Harry.
Her family described her as “darling daughter of Hugh and Pippa, incredible sister to Archie and Agatha, and granddaughter to Derek and Rae Long” in her obituary, published in The Yorkshire Post on July 19.
A Private Family Funeral and Memorial Service to Follow
Rosie’s family has announced that she will have a private family funeral, and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
This tragedy comes after another sudden passing rocked the royal family last year, when Thomas Kingston, the husband of royal cousin Lady Gabriella Windsor and former boyfriend of Pippa Middleton, was found dead in February aged 45.
Kingston’s death was also deemed “not suspicious” by an inquest, and his family described him as “an exceptional man who lit up the lives of all who knew him.”
Princes Harry and William are yet to publicly comment on their cousin’s death.
