Sydney, Australia – Award-winning Australian television actor Henri Szeps died at the age of 81, his family confirmed.
In 2021, Szeps revealed he had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease and had been living in a care facility since 2023.
Despite his health struggles, Szeps remained spirited until the end, his family said.
“He died as he lived, loving life, his family, and his audience,” his wife Mary Ann said in a statement. Szeps’ sons, Josh and Amos, also paid tribute to their father, remembering his quick wit, passion, and zest for life.
Szeps is survived by his wife, two sons, and four grandchildren. He was awarded an Order of Australia Medal in 2001 and leaves behind a legacy as one of Australia’s most beloved and respected actors.
