A hazardous accident on the West Gate Freeway in Melbourne has left two drivers fighting for their lives and caused massive disruptions to traffic.
The collision occurred around 12:10 pm on Saturday when a 4WD towing a horse float crashed into a truck and a car between Montague and Power Streets.
Traffic Chaos
The Montague Street on-ramp has been blocked, and traffic is being diverted, resulting in significant delays.
Multiple inbound lanes are shut down, and drivers are being urged to use alternative routes such as Montague Street, City Road, and Power Street or Kings Way and Dandenong Road.
VicTraffic has reported that all inbound lanes between Montague Street and the Burnley Tunnel have been closed.
Driver Injuries
The drivers of the 4WD and the car sustained serious injuries and were rushed to the hospital, while the truck driver miraculously escaped without any injuries.
Luckily, no animals were hurt in the incident.
Investigation Underway
The exact cause of the collision is still unknown, and authorities are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage to come forward and contact Crime Stoppers.
