Dallas, Texas – Former US President Donald Trump has made unsubstantiated claims that singer Beyoncé broke the law by allegedly accepting an $11 million payment for endorsing Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris during the 2024 election campaign.
Trump’s allegations have been widely debunked, with CNN reporting that there is no evidence to support the claim.
Trump took to social media platform Truth Social over the weekend, stating that Beyoncé was paid $11 million for an endorsement, which he claimed was illegal.
He also called for the singer and others who allegedly received endorsement money to be prosecuted.
However, his allegations have been met with skepticism, and the White House has not provided any evidence to support the claim.
Beyoncé appeared at a rally in Houston, Texas, in October 2024, where she endorsed Kamala Harris.
While spending records do show a payment of $165,000 to Beyoncé’s production company, listed as a “campaign event production” expense, there is no evidence to suggest that the singer received a direct payment of $11 million.
A spokesperson for the Harris campaign previously stated that they were required by law to cover costs related to a celebrity endorser’s appearance, but did not pay the celebrity themselves.
Senior advisor Adrienne Elrod insisted that the campaign had followed the law “religiously” and had not paid any artist or performer a fee.
Trump’s claims have been widely criticized, with many calling them baseless and unfounded.
Beyoncé’s representatives have not commented directly on the allegations, but her mother, Tina Knowles, took to Instagram to deny the claims, stating that the singer had not received a penny for her appearance at the rally.
