WASHINGTON, D.C. – In a rare nuclear threat aimed at Russia, President Trump announced on social media that he had ordered the repositioning of two nuclear submarines in response to online threats from former Russian President Dmitri Medvedev.
According to the President’s statement, the submarines have been positioned in “appropriate regions” as a deterrent, citing concerns that Medvedev’s statements could lead to “unintended consequences.”
The President warned that “words are very important” and emphasized the need for caution in the matter.

The United States Department of Defense has not confirmed whether the submarines have indeed been repositioned.
