A 26-year-old neonatal nurse has been charged with suspected sexual assault on minors and distribution of child abuse images, after allegedly filming herself abusing babies in a hospital and sharing the videos with her boyfriend.
The nurse, who worked at the André Grégoire Hospital in the Parisian suburb of Montreuil, reportedly confessed to the crimes after videos circulated on TikTok, sparking outrage and protests at the hospital.
Her 28-year-old boyfriend has been charged with complicity in the sexual instigation of minors.
The case came to light after worried mothers, some who had given birth at the hospital over a year ago, began calling the facility upon learning of the alleged abuse.
The hospital management has since suspended the nurse, calling her actions a “serious personal error” that the hospital strongly condemns.
According to the Bobigny prosecutor’s office, the alleged abuse took place in December 2024 and January 2025.
An investigation is ongoing, and two victims have reportedly been identified following analysis of the videos.
Both suspects have appeared before court and have been placed under judicial supervision.
The hospital has urged anyone with information to come forward, and the public is requested to report any further instances of abuse to the authorities.
The contact details for reporting allegations are available through the hospital’s website.
Authorities have emphasized that there is no racial element to the alleged crime, and the incident has sparked widespread outrage in France, with protesters gathering at the hospital to demand action.
