AFL Announces Snoop Dogg as Headlining Act for 2025 Grand Final Day Entertainment
The Australian Football League (AFL) has confirmed that iconic American rapper Snoop Dogg will headline the entertainment for the 2025 grand final day on Saturday, September 27, at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
The 53-year-old music legend, known for hits like “Drop It Like It’s Hot,” will bring his signature energy to the AFL’s biggest event, following in the footsteps of previous performers such as Katy Perry, The Killers, Robbie Williams, and Meat Loaf.
Snoop Dogg’s Excitement to Perform in Australia
In a statement, Snoop Dogg expressed his enthusiasm for the opportunity, saying, “It’s an absolute honour to be hitting the stage at the AFL grand final.
It’s one of the biggest events on the Aussie calendar.
Can’t wait to bring the energy and celebrate with the fans.
Let’s make it unforgettable.”
This is not Snoop Dogg’s first time performing in Australia, having toured the country several times and performed at prominent music festivals.
His most recent notable performances include the 2022 Super Bowl half-time show and the Paris Olympics closing ceremony.
AFL Boss Hails Snoop Dogg as the Perfect Fit
AFL boss Andrew Dillon praised the selection, saying, “Snoop Dogg is a pioneer, a performer, and a true entertainer.
He’s played to packed stadiums around the world — but we think 100,000 fans at the MCG might just be his most iconic crowd yet.
We want grand final day to be an unforgettable celebration of footy — and beyond the four quarters of the match, a celebration of culture, energy, and entertainment.
Snoop fits that brief better than anyone.”
