Sydney Motorway Crash: Woman Survives Being ‘Sandwiched’ Between Two Trucks
A miraculous rescue has unfolded on a major Sydney motorway, where a young woman managed to survive a horrific crash that left her Toyota Yaris crushed between two trucks.
The incident occurred at 9:15 am on the M7 at Eastern Creek, near the Light Horseman Interchange, when a five-vehicle nose-to-tail collision took place.
Firefighters found the woman, aged in her 20s, conscious and breathing, and worked to reassure her as they carefully cut her out of the wreckage.
Rescue Efforts
A helicopter was deployed to drop medical crews onto the motorway, while the truck was subsequently hoisted and balanced on bricks to allow firefighters to extract the woman from the wreckage.
The rescue operation took approximately 90 minutes, during which time the woman remained conscious and able to communicate with responders.
Inspector Andrew Ticehurst from Fire and Rescue NSW described the scene, stating that the car was “sandwiched between two trucks.”
The woman was eventually pulled out from what remained of the car’s roof and rushed to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition, suffering only facial injuries.
The extraordinary rescue effort has left authorities and onlookers stunned, with many hailing it as a miracle that the woman survived the ordeal.
