Cadbury Australia Recalls Popular Chocolate Bars Due to Foreign Matter
A popular variety of Cadbury chocolate has been urgently recalled in Australia after plastic was detected in the product.
The recall was issued by Food Standards Australia and New Zealand (FSANZ) on Tuesday for the 10 Piece Sharebag Marvellous Creations Jelly Popping Candy Beanies.
The affected 160g products were sold in various retailers, including Coles, Woolworths, Drakes, The Reject Shop, IGA, and independent stores.
Mondelez Australia, the owner of Cadbury, has warned consumers not to eat the product and to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
Reason for Recall
The recall was prompted after plastic was found in the chocolate, which may cause illness or injury if consumed.
FSANZ advised consumers to seek medical attention if they are concerned about their health.
The recalled products feature the use-by date of May 21, 2026.
Consumers who have purchased the affected products can contact Mondelez Australia on 1800 034 241 for more information.
Detailed information on the recall is also available on the FSANZ website.
This recall serves as a reminder to consumers to always check the packaging and ingredients of food products before consumption, and to report any suspicious findings to the relevant authorities.
