Australia’s Highest Paid Industries Revealed, Workers Hit $2,000 a Week Milestone
The ABS reported that the growth in average weekly earnings for full-time adults was similar to the rise in the Wage Price Index for the same period, with the private sector experiencing a 4.6 per cent increase compared to 3.6 per cent in the public sector.
This growth is attributed to backdated pay rises from previously approved enterprise agreements with state governments, coupled with regular scheduled pay rises.
Industry Breakdown
The data reveals that mining workers earn the highest average weekly salary at $3,174.50, followed by information media and telco workers at $2,560.70.
The lowest paid full-time workers are in accommodation and food services, earning an average of $1,459.70 per week, and retail trade, earning $1,504.40 per week.

Regional Variations
According to the data, ACT residents earn the highest average weekly salary at $2,236.60, followed by Western Australia at $2,154.70.
The lowest earnings are seen in Tasmania at $1,793 and South Australia at $1,894.10.
