Popular Gogglebox Australia personality Anastasia Katselas has bravely shared her recent health struggles, including a cancer diagnosis and emergency hysterectomy, in a heartfelt video message to her Instagram followers.
Katselas, who has appeared on the show alongside friend Faye since its inception a decade ago, was rushed to hospital last Tuesday after being diagnosed with cancer in her uterus.
The 35-year-old underwent an emergency hysterectomy and spent two nights in hospital before being released.
A Warning to Women: Regular Pap Smears are Crucial
Katselas, still recovering from the ordeal, urged women to prioritise their health and undergo regular Pap smears, admitting she had neglected her own check-ups in recent years.
“I can’t remember the last time I went…
I happened to go to the doctor because I had a concern and they did a pap smear and lo and behold, a week later I’m in hospital,” she said.
The reality TV star expressed gratitude that her cancer was caught early, with doctors indicating it had not spread.
However, she is still awaiting the results of post-surgery tests.
A Healthier, Happier Life
On a more positive note, Katselas has also celebrated her recent 35kg weight loss, which she attributes to saving her life.
In an interview with Woman’s Day, she shared her transformation journey, saying, “I’m healthy, I don’t feel as lethargic…
I feel like a woman again!”
Katselas’ weight loss has been noticeable in recent months, and she expressed relief at taking control of her health.
