Sagar Tudu, a 22-year-old YouTuber from Berhampur, had ventured into the treacherous river waters at Duduma Waterfall in Odisha’s Koraput district on Saturday, hoping to capture the perfect drone footage for his channel.
But in a heart-stopping instant, tragedy struck. A viral clip shows Tudu standing perilously on a rock, with the roaring Duduma Waterfall torrents mere feet behind him. Onlookers can be seen desperately trying to throw a rope to the young YouTuber, shouting instructions in a bid to save him from the jaws of death.
But it was too late. The water level in the river suddenly surged due to the release of water from the Machkund Dam, following a deluge of heavy rainfall. The strong currents proved too powerful, sweeping Tudu away in a matter of seconds.
In a desperate bid to cling to life, Tudu was seen grasping desperately onto the rock, his eyes wide with terror, before disappearing from view. The crowd’s cries of horror still echo through the valley.
A massive search operation has been launched to locate Tudu, but his fate remains unknown, leaving his family and friends in a state of anguished uncertainty.
