Two Dead After Stolen Vehicle Crashes into Two Cars in Rural Queensland
Two men, including the alleged driver of a stolen vehicle, have been killed in a fiery three-vehicle crash on the Gympie Curra Road in Chatsworth on Saturday afternoon.
Queensland Police allege the incident occurred when a stolen sedan, which was seen overtaking dangerously at high speed, collided with two other cars, causing one to burst into flames.
The crash happened at approximately 3 pm. According to initial police investigations, a stolen black MG sedan sideswiped a black Toyota before striking a silver Holden.
The impact caused both the Toyota and the Holden to overturn, with the Holden subsequently catching fire.
The 20-year-old male driver of the stolen MG and the 50-year-old male driver of the Holden were both pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigation and Appeal for Witnesses
The Forensic Crash Unit has launched an investigation into the exact circumstances of the collision.
Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage from the Gympie Curra Road area around the time of the crash to come forward. Information can be provided to Crime Stoppers.
