Police have issued a desperate plea for information as they investigate the disappearance of Jayden Selfe, a 33-year-old Perth man who vanished in May.
In a shocking development, WA Police Commissioner Col Blanch revealed that a forensic search of a unit in the riverside suburb of Attadale has led to “grave concerns” for Mr Selfe’s safety.
“As a result of forensic analysis in that unit … we have concerns for his welfare, which means we found something that would suggest that he was there,” Commissioner Blanch said in a statement.
“I don’t want to rule out that he may be alive, but certainly the information we have would suggest that harm may have come to Mr Selfe.”
The WA Police Commissioner said the investigation was still in its early stages, but police believe Mr Selfe may have been harmed at the Attadale unit.
“Certainly that’s the way the investigation is leading,” he said.
Mr Selfe was last in contact with people known to him in early to mid-May this year. Commissioner Blanch is urging anyone with information to come forward and contact Crime Stoppers.
The investigation is being led by the Major Crime and Homicide Squad, and police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
As the search for Mr Selfe continues, his family and friends are left in a state of anguish, hoping for a miracle that he will be found alive.
