Victoria Police have charged an eighth person in relation to the **horrific** stabbing deaths of two teenage boys in Melbourne’s outer west earlier this month. The latest suspect, a **15-year-old boy**, was charged with the murder of Dau Akueng, 15, who was found with fatal injuries in Cobblebank on September 6.
Dau and his friend, Chol Achiek, 12, were on their way home from a basketball stadium when they were allegedly set upon by a group of people wearing masks and wielding bladed weapons. Emergency services were called, but both boys **tragically** died at the scene.
Authorities have described the incident as “one of the worst” knife crimes they had seen. The community has been left **shaken** by the senseless violence, with local officers meeting with schools, council, and community leaders to address concerns.
Seven others, including a 19-year-old man and three teenage boys, aged 15 and 16, are also facing murder charges over the death of Dau Akueng. Two men aged 18 and 19, as well as a 16-year-old boy, have been charged with the murder of Chol Achiek.
