In a terrifying incident that has left a family shaken, a five-year-old girl fell 14 metres from a Disney cruise ship into the ocean after her mother’s alleged mistake. The girl, who couldn’t swim, was posing next to an open porthole as her mother took a photo, when she lost her balance and fell backwards into the water.
The incident occurred on the fourth deck of the Disney Dream Cruise Line ship, which had departed Florida for the Bahamas and was returning to its home port at the end of June. According to a police report released by Florida’s Broward County Sheriff’s Office, the girl’s mother pointed to a porthole railing, and the girl sat down on the railing before falling into the ocean.
