According to eyewitnesses, a witness to the crash drove the 22-year-old woman and her three-year-old son to the nearest police station, seeking urgent assistance. However, the boy’s condition rapidly deteriorated, and he became unresponsive in the police station’s foyer.
Police officers sprang into action, performing CPR in a desperate bid to save the young boy’s life. Tragically, their efforts were in vain, and the boy was declared dead at the scene.
A 24-year-old Beenleigh man, believed to have been in the car at the time of the crash, had fled the scene with a one-year-old boy before police arrived. The pair was later located at an address in Beenleigh around 6.30am, with the young boy being taken to hospital for treatment.
