Tragedy Strikes: Three-Year-Old Boy Dies in Police Station After Horrific Car Crash in Beenleigh

A family is left reeling in shock and grief after a heartbreaking incident in Beenleigh, north of the Gold Coast, on Saturday morning. A three-year-old boy lost his life in a police station, just hours after a car crash that also involved his parents and a one-year-old sibling.
According to Detective Acting Superintendent Mark Mooney, the crash occurred at around 5am on Saturday, with the car veering off the road in bushland. A witness saw the vehicle veer off the road and later transported the injured parties to Beenleigh Police Station.
“In a heartbreaking development, the three-year-old has sustained a head injury which has caused his death,” Detective Acting Supt Mooney told reporters, his voice heavy with emotion. “Any previous domestic violence incidents that have occurred between the two (parents) will form part of our inquiries.”
The mother, 22, had requested the witness to take her to the police station after the crash. Upon arrival, officers performed CPR on the unresponsive toddler, but sadly, their efforts were in vain. The boy was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 24-year-old father, from Beenleigh, was arrested on Saturday night and charged with violating a domestic violence order. Police expect to lay further charges against him, and he is set to appear in court on Monday.
A temporary protection order had been in place since June 2024, and the couple had been separated. The police investigation is ongoing, with officers appealing for further witnesses to come forward.
In the aftermath of this devastating incident, the community is left to mourn the loss of a young life, and the authorities are urging anyone affected by domestic violence to seek help.
