The video, too graphic to play in full, was filmed from a vantage point around 50 metres away from the bridge where the alleged gunmen, Naveed and Sajid Akram, were positioned throughout most of the attack. It captures the moment Sajid Akram opens fire on two people trying to flee, with the pair later seen lying motionless on the ground.
In a heart-stopping sequence, Sajid Akram leaves the bridge, only to return two minutes and 59 seconds later, as his son continues to fire in the direction of the Hanukkah event. Naveed Akram is seen gesturing at unseen people to get away without firing, suggesting a deliberate targeting of the Jewish community.
The video takes a dramatic turn when a bystander tackles Sajid Akram and disarms him, prompting the terrorist to walk back to the bridge, where his son is still shooting.
