In a heart-wrenching update, the family of Ahmed al Ahmed has spoken out about the heroic actions of the 38-year-old father-of-two who bravely foiled the Bondi Beach terror attack on Sunday.
As Ahmed battles for life in hospital, his cousin Mustafa revealed that he’s doing ‘alright’ but hasn’t had any surgeries yet. Speaking outside St George Hospital, Mustafa said: ‘I hope he will be fine. I saw him last night. He was alright but we’re waiting to see what the doctor (says). I can’t give you any updates until I see him.’
Mustafa couldn’t praise Ahmed’s actions enough, calling him a ‘hero’ who put his life on the line to protect others. ‘Absolutely he’s a hero. Absolutely, because maybe he (will) lose his life to save other people,’ he said, his voice shaking with emotion.
