Zac McRae’s life was brutally cut short when he was stabbed in the chest at a bus interchange in Western Sydney on August 27. The 19-year-old’s fatal wound would prove to be a devastating loss for his loved ones, who are still reeling from the senseless attack.
In a shocking twist, a 19-year-old woman has been charged with his murder, accused of driving other alleged offenders to the scene of the crime. The accused, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was arrested on Tuesday following a police investigation that saw two search warrants executed in Dapto and Vineyard.
Emergency services were called to North Parade in Mount Druitt on August 27, where they found two 19-year-old men with stab wounds. Despite desperate attempts to save him, Mr McRae died at the scene, while the other man was taken to hospital in a stable condition and has since been released.
The accused was taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station, where she was charged with murder, conceal a serious indictable offence, failing to disclose the identity of a driver or passenger, and participating in a criminal group or contributing to criminal activity. She was refused bail and will appear in Bail Division Local Court 3 on Wednesday.
Police will allege that the accused played a crucial role in the events leading up to Mr McRae’s tragic death, driving others to the scene where the brutal attack unfolded. As the community grapples with the senseless loss of a young life, the accused will face court to answer to the charges.
