During an interview with Murray Watt, Natalie Barr, the host of the morning show “Sunrise,” took a swipe at Anthony Albanese, the Prime Minister of Australia. The two discussed the decision by Cricket Australia to not use the term “Australia Day” when it plays a Test match against South Africa at the Brisbane’s The Gabba on January 26.

During the interview, Barr asked why Australians were getting embarrassed about what they were doing on Australia Day. She noted that the country’s leaders should take responsibility for addressing the issue. Senator Albanese immediately defended him.

When Watt was asked by Barr if the Prime Minister should be leading a debate about Australia Day, he said that it was up to the people to decide. He noted that democracy allowed people to have their own opinions.

He then took a swipe at Peter Dutton, the opposition leader. He was reacting to the news that Woolworths would no longer sell Australia Day merchandise. Dutton had called for people to boycott the company. According to Mr Watt, the opposition leader put the jobs of employees at risk by talking about boycotting a company.

Instead of focusing on culture wars and the quality of thongs, the government should be focused on issues such as inflation and the war on terrorism.
