Dave Myers, who starred in the TV series Hairy Bikers, died on Thursday at the age of 66.
He had been battling cancer since 2022. His co-star Si King released a statement about his death.
On February 28, Dave passed away at his home. He was surrounded by his wife Lili, his family, and close friend David.
The entire community is devastated by his death. His wife and children, Sergiu and Iza, were his joy.
I am struggling to come to terms with how I feel right now. My best friend, who I have known for over half a lifetime, is currently on a journey that I cannot follow.
I will miss him very much, and I wish him the best. He is a beacon of light in the world and I will remember him for who he was.
Almost two decades ago, King and Myers became famous as the Hairy Bikers.
They traveled the world on their motorbikes, eating and cooking all the time along the way.
Their current BBC series, which is called The Hairy Bikers Go West, premiered recently in the UK.
In the series’ first episode, Myers said it was a dream come true to be back on a motorcycle.
He also noted that he had no idea he would ever be able to ride a bike again. During an interview before the show started, King said that it was special to see him back on his bike due to his health.
In May 2022, Myers revealed on the podcast of the Hairy Bikers that he was diagnosed with cancer.
He did not provide the type of cancer he was fighting. However, he noted that his wife, Lili, had suffered a huge loss due to his illness.
During his interview, he also noted that his partner, Lil, was under tremendous pressure due to his illness.
However, he noted his friend, Si, was able to keep him going during his illness. He would often drive him to the hospital and cook for him.
