The search for Hussein Al Mansoory, who has autism and Down syndrome, has been launched as his whereabouts are still unclear.
He was last seen at around 10.30am on Saturday near Auburn Memorial Park. According to the police, he may have been spotted near Hevington Rd and Norval St at around 9pm.
The police were informed about Hussein’s disappearance. They have carried out extensive searches in the area.
Due to his condition, which includes autism and down syndrome, the officers are concerned for his welfare. On Sunday, Mark Wakeham, the inspector of the Auburn Police Area Command, asked the public to search their yards.
The family is reportedly distraught and is asking the public to search their yards and areas surrounding the city. They believe that Hussein is scared and may run away from people if he is approached. Members of the SES also went door-to-door on Sunday in an attempt to find the missing boy. If anyone spots him, they should immediately contact the police.
A helicopter has been deployed to assist in the search operation. Hussein is described as a Middle Eastern-looking boy with a slim build, wearing a white T-shirt. The public is urged to contact the police or Crime Stoppers if they have any information about his whereabouts.
