Veteran journalist Jodie Speers announced her departure from Channel 7 on Friday, stating that she was feeling emotional about her decision.
She had worked for the network for 15 years, and she shared a farewell message on social media.
In her post, she talked about her time at the station, which included stints in federal parliament and dealing with various other issues.
Jodie stated that she was surprised by how emotional she felt after 15 years of working in the industry.
She noted that working in this field gave her so much, and each day was always different.
Some of her experiences included working in federal parliament and covering bushfires and crime scenes.
She and her husband, Ben Fordham, welcomed three children into their family.
She had always been fascinated by the early news, and she often found herself getting up at an unreasonable hour to juggle her work and family obligations.
