Russell Manser, a former prisoner whose son broke his silence following his father’s death, served multiple years in jail for bank robberies in NSW, Queensland, and Northern Territory.
He used TikTok to open up about his experience as a victim of sexual abuse.
Over 100,000 people joined Voice of a Survivor, a program he established to help other survivors find their purpose in their lives.
Ky, his 22-year-old son, broke his silence about the tragic incident. He stated that he was struggling with the pain and that he could not explain it.
He posted a picture of himself and his father and wrote, “RIP dad, I love you.”
He also stated that he had been spending time with his family and was trying to accept his loss.
Manser regularly shared videos of himself and his son to try and inspire others to open up about their mental health issues. He also co-hosted a podcast with Ay Huncho, a rapper from Australia, and Mark Bouris, a businessman.
On Sunday, Manser’s friends paid tribute to him on social media. Many of them expressed their condolences and said that they will miss him.
Andrew Carpenter, a lawyer, said that he and his colleagues wanted to make a difference in the world and thanked him for saving countless lives.
Manser was instrumental in helping many people overcome their issues with abuse, Mr. Carpenter stated in his Instagram post. He said that he will always be a hero to him.
