A man and his pet died after they were hit by a car in Maryvale, in Victoria, on Friday evening.
They were reportedly exiting a vehicle on the Derhams Lane when they were struck.
The man, who was 76 years old, was tended to by paramedics, but he eventually died on his way to a hospital.
His dog died at the scene.
The incident is still being investigated by the police.
It’s believed that the car’s driver stopped and talked to the officers.
A report will be submitted to the coroner.
