Before he went on a stabbing attack at a busy shopping center in Sydney, the suspect posted advertisements for a male escort service.
According to reports, the man, who was identified as Joel Cauchi, offered a wide range of private services.
Cauchi, who was 40 years old at that time, advertised his services through an escort website known as Escorts.Au.
His past actions are the latest development in the investigation into the attack that left six people dead and 12 others injured at the Westfield shopping center.
It is believed that the violent outburst was triggered by his mental health issues.
A report noted that Cauchi, who was from Toowoomba, was off his medication due to his mental health issues.
He reportedly had a fixation for knives and was forced by his parents to get rid of the implements. In December 2020, he posted a message on Facebook, asking people who were interested in acquiring guns to contact him.
In his message, he said he was looking for groups of individuals who shoot guns.
He asked people to send him a DM so he could get in touch with them.
Cauchi also regularly made posts on his Facebook page, where he solicited people for surfing and photography.
